The following rate change chart displays the overall health insurance rate changes for a 42 year old male in Hollywood, CA 90210 over the course of 2011. The chart was produced quickly and easily from software for insurance companies

There was only 1 plan that decreased their rate for 2011.  The "Health Savings 1900" plan from Cigna decreased by 9.2% while coverage remained unchanged from January to December 2011.  Anthem and Blue Shield had the smallest amount of changes to rates out of all companies that offer plans. Assurant raised their rates the most; both in quantity and frequency.

One could drawn any number of conclusions from this data.  This particular view only shows what was actually offered for new applicants over the course of 2011.  Business intelligence software for health insurance companies grants the information that allows for the competitive wisdom that can be applied to marketing, sales, and executive management decision making.
